Ann Nicholson Brown works in photographic collage, creating unique art objects from the details of a life spent looking. Encouraged by her parents to look carefully at the world around her, she became a collector of memories and observations. Cutting, tearing and reconstructing her photographs, she determines which disparate elements work cohesively to make a new whole. It is a kind of alchemy that transforms Nicholson Brown's photographs into tangible remembrances.

Nicholson brown is a member of Sandi Haber fifield’s Photography workshop in new york city. she has had solo exhibitions at the darien nature center, darien, ct; brendan’s 101 gallery in rowayton, ct; and most recently, the north haven gallery, north haven, me. with work pertaining to the island of north haven. she lives in connecticut with her family.
